Milkomeda C1 cannot be reached. The internet records that pointed to its network, explorer and bridge have all been taken down, and its sister network went the same way.
Its own documentation still describes it as a working part of the Cardano ecosystem, which is why people keep trying to connect to it.
If you have assets there, the bridge back to Cardano is not reachable, so treat them as stranded.
What you get out of the box

Pick your import method.
Before you start
- Add your Cardano wallet. Deposits onto Milkomeda started there and those transactions are still recorded.
- Gather anything you saved from the sidechain itself before it became unreachable.
On Kryptos
- Log in to Kryptos.
- Go to Integrations.
- Click Add Integration, then search for and select Milkomeda C1.
- Click the Milkomeda C1 icon and choose Upload CSV.
- Upload the file. Kryptos reads it and categorises the transactions for you.
Good to know
- Assets on Milkomeda were held as a wrapped form of ADA and wrapped tokens, not as the originals.
- You had two addresses: a Cardano one for funding and a separate 0x one on the sidechain.
- The documentation site still describes the chain as operational. The network behind it is not.
Two chains, two addresses, and one of them is gone
Milkomeda C1 was a sidechain of Cardano, built so that people could use Ethereum-style applications with assets that started on Cardano. That design is the reason reconstructing a position here needs two sets of records.
You funded it from a Cardano address, in Cardano's own format. What arrived on the sidechain was a wrapped form of ADA, at a completely different address starting 0x. Two chains, two address formats, one position, and nothing linking them automatically.
The sidechain is now unreachable. What has happened is more specific than a server being down: the internet records that tell computers where to find its network have been removed entirely, which is something someone did rather than something that broke. Its sister network went the same way, so this looks like the whole project being shut off rather than one chain failing.
No announcement accompanied it that we can find, and the project's documentation still describes the chain as a working part of the Cardano ecosystem. That combination, a dead network and confident documentation, is why people are still trying to connect.
The useful consequence is that your Cardano side survives intact. The transaction that sent ADA across is recorded permanently on Cardano with an amount and a date, and that is usually the strongest evidence for what you lost and what it cost. Whether that loss is claimable depends on where you file. See the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide, and our Cardano integration for the side that still works.
Manage your Milkomeda C1 portfolio with Kryptos.
Using the Cardano side as evidence
The transaction that sent ADA across is still on Cardano, with an amount and a date, even though the sidechain is gone.
Accounting for wrapped holdings
What you held on the sidechain was a wrapped form rather than the original asset, which matters for how a loss is described.
Reconstructing across two address formats
Funding used a Cardano address and the sidechain used a separate one. Both are needed to tell the story.
Audit-ready, automatically.
Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.
Stranded assets are a loss question, not a sale
Assets on an unreachable chain were not disposed of. Whether you can claim a loss depends on where you file and usually on evidencing that the asset is unrecoverable.
What you held was wrapped, not original
The sidechain used a wrapped form of ADA for fees and wrapped versions of other tokens. A claim describes losing those rather than losing ADA itself.
Your funding transaction is the best evidence
The Cardano-side transaction that funded the bridge is permanent and shows what you sent and when.
Some balances may have earned without you acting
Wrapped ADA on the sidechain could be put to work earning returns automatically, so there may be receipts you never deliberately arranged.
Read-only by design.
- A file upload is read-only. Nothing connects to your account
- Kryptos never asks for your password or login details
- Delete an import at any time and its data goes with it
- Keep the original file: it is your evidence if anyone asks later
If something doesn't sync.
Its internet records have been removed, so there is nothing to connect to.
The documentation was not updated. The network behind it is unreachable and its value has fallen to effectively nothing.
Check Cardano itself. ADA sent across became a wrapped form on the sidechain and never left Cardano as ADA.
