Astar zkEVM was shut down on 31 March 2025. Its endpoint no longer exists, its documentation page has been removed, and Astar warned at the time that assets left behind after that date might no longer be reachable.
This is not the same thing as Astar Network, which is a different chain and is still running normally. If you are looking for your ASTR, that is where to look.
So this page is about records rather than connections.

Before you start
- Add your Astar Network wallet first. That chain is live and is where most Astar activity sits.
- For anything that was on zkEVM, gather what you saved: exports, exchange statements, and any records from before the shutdown.
On Kryptos
- Log in to Kryptos.
- Go to Integrations.
- Click Add Integration, then search for and select Astar zkEVM.
- Click the Astar zkEVM icon and choose Upload CSV.
- Upload the file. Kryptos reads it and categorises the transactions for you.
Good to know
- Astar Network and Astar zkEVM were different chains. Only the zkEVM one closed.
- Bridges were disabled and endpoints switched off at the sunset, so the chain cannot be queried now.
- Gas on the zkEVM chain was paid in ETH rather than ASTR.
What closed, and what did not
Astar has run more than one chain, and only one of them stopped, which is a distinction worth getting right before you conclude anything has gone missing.
Astar zkEVM was a separate network launched in 2024 as a layer on top of Ethereum. It was sunset on 31 March 2025, a day earlier than originally announced. Bridges were disabled, endpoints were switched off, and Astar told users it was their last opportunity to withdraw assets and remove liquidity, warning that anything left afterwards might no longer be accessible.
Astar Network, the older chain, was not affected and continues to operate. ASTR lives there. If your holdings look like they have vanished, the first thing to check is whether you are looking at the right chain. Our Astar integration covers the live one.
For anything genuinely stranded on the zkEVM chain, the treatment depends on where you file, and usually on being able to show both what you paid and that the asset is now worthless. See the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

Separating the two Astar chains
Activity on Astar Network is live and importable. Activity on the zkEVM chain ended in March 2025 and exists only in records you kept.
Accounting for assets left behind
Anything not withdrawn before the sunset may be unreachable, which is a worthlessness question rather than a sale.
Establishing what you paid
Cost basis now comes from exchange statements and saved exports, because the chain itself cannot be queried.

Stranded assets are not a disposal
Assets left on a chain that closed were not sold. Whether a loss can be claimed depends on where you file and usually on showing the asset has no value.
Withdrawing before the sunset was just a transfer
Anyone who moved assets out before 31 March 2025 made a transfer between their own wallets, not a disposal.
The two Astar chains had different fee tokens
The zkEVM chain charged gas in ETH. Astar Network charges in ASTR. Old records will show whichever applied.
You still need the purchase price
Any treatment works from what you paid, which now lives only in exchange records and saved exports.

- Delete an import at any time and its data goes with it
- Keep the original file: it is your evidence if anyone asks later
If something doesn't sync.
The chain was shut down in March 2025 and its endpoints were switched off. There is nothing running to connect to.
Check Astar Network rather than the zkEVM chain. They were separate networks and only one closed.
The chain cannot be queried. Work from exchange statements and anything you exported before the shutdown.
