zkLink Nova

zkLink Nova gathers liquidity from Ethereum and several layer 2 networks into one place. Your address starts with 0x.

Gas is paid in ETH, though the network also lets you pay in its own token at a discount, so one chain can have two possible fee assets.

The quirk to know before importing is that the same asset bridged from different places can arrive as different tokens here.

What you get out of the box

ETH and token transfers on zkLink Nova
Deposits bridged in from Ethereum and other networks
Fees paid in either ETH or the network's own token
Swaps and liquidity where you have used them

Pick your import method.

On zkLink Nova

  1. Open your wallet and copy your address. It starts with 0x.
  2. Add the wallets on the networks you bridged from. Each deposit leaves a record on both sides.

On Kryptos

  1. Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
  2. From the menu, click Integrations.
  3. Click Add Integration and search for zkLink Nova.
  4. Click the zkLink Nova icon, then choose Import using Address.
  5. Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.

Good to know

  • Gas is normally ETH, but paying in the network's own token is possible, so your fee asset may vary.
  • The same underlying asset bridged from two different networks can appear as two separate tokens.
  • Blocks are produced on demand, so gaps between them are normal.

When one asset arrives as several tokens

zkLink Nova's purpose is to pull liquidity together from Ethereum and a number of layer 2 networks so that it can be used in one place. That design creates a tracking wrinkle worth understanding before you import.

Bring an asset in from one network and it arrives as a token here. Bring the same asset in from a different network and it can arrive as a different token, because the chain keeps track of where each deposit came from.

Economically you hold one thing. On chain you hold two, with separate balances and separate identifiers. For a tax record that means two positions to track rather than one, each carrying the cost of whatever you originally paid on its own source network.

The practical instruction is to import the wallets on every network you bridged from, not just this one. With only this chain present, the deposits arrive with no cost attached and any later sale looks like pure profit. With both sides imported, the cost follows across.

A second, smaller thing: gas here is normally ETH, but the network lets you pay in its own token at a discount instead. So a year of fees may be split across two assets, and each needs pricing against its own chart. For how transfers between your own wallets are treated, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

Bridging in from several networks

Deposits from different sources can arrive as distinct tokens even when they represent the same underlying asset.

Paying fees in either of two assets

Gas is normally ETH but can be paid in the network's own token at a discount, so your fee disposals may not all be in the same asset.

Reading a chain that produces blocks on demand

Long gaps between blocks are normal here and do not indicate a problem.

Audit-ready, automatically.

Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.

One asset can become several positions

Because deposits are aggregated from several networks, the same underlying asset arriving from different places can be held as different tokens. They may need tracking separately even though they represent the same thing.

Your fee asset may vary

Fees are usually an ETH disposal, but paying in the network's own token instead makes that fee a disposal of a different asset. Both need pricing correctly.

Bridging is a transfer, not a sale

Deposits and withdrawals move your own assets and leave records on two networks. Import both sides so they pair up.

The network's token lives on Ethereum

It is issued on Ethereum rather than being native here, so holdings of it may sit on a different chain from where you spent it.

Read-only by design.

  • Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
  • A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
  • We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
  • Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it

If something doesn't sync.

I have several versions of the same token

Deposits from different networks can arrive as distinct tokens. They represent the same underlying asset but are tracked separately.

My fees are not all in the same asset

Gas can be paid in ETH or in the network's own token, so a mixed history is normal.

The chain looks stalled

Blocks are produced when transactions arrive rather than on a fixed schedule.
