RocketX

RocketX moves tokens between chains. You connect your own wallet, it finds a route, and the tokens come out the other side on a different network.

You never hold a balance with RocketX. Your assets stay in your wallet until the moment of the swap, which means the chain is your only record and there is nothing to log into and export.

That is mostly good news. The complication is that a single swap leaves its two halves on two different chains, and they do not look like they belong together.

What you get out of the box

Same-chain swaps made through RocketX
Cross-chain swaps and the records on both sides
Token approvals granted before a swap
Gas spent on each chain involved

Pick your import method.

On RocketX

  1. Copy the address of the wallet you connected. It is your own wallet rather than an account with RocketX.
  2. Add it for every chain you swapped from or to. Both ends of a cross-chain swap need importing.

On Kryptos

  1. Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
  2. From the menu, click Integrations.
  3. Click Add Integration and search for RocketX.
  4. Click the RocketX icon, then choose Import using Address.
  5. Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.

Good to know

  • There is no account and no balance held for you, so there is nothing to export.
  • A cross-chain swap sends tokens to a router address on one chain and delivers different tokens from another address on the other.
  • You pay gas on the source chain, and again on the destination chain if you move the tokens afterwards.

One swap, two chains, no obvious connection

This is the whole tax story for RocketX, and it is a problem shared by every cross-chain swap service.

When you swap a token on one chain for a token on another, what happens mechanically is two separate things on two separate ledgers. On the first chain, your tokens leave your wallet and go to a routing address. On the second, different tokens arrive in your wallet from some other address entirely.

Neither record references the other. There is no shared identifier, no matching amount, and the two chains do not know the other exists. To anything reading your history, these look like an unexplained payment out and an unexplained gift in, several minutes apart, on unrelated networks.

Read that way, the consequences are bad in both directions. The outgoing side looks like you disposed of tokens and received nothing, which overstates a loss. The incoming side looks like tokens appeared from nowhere with no cost attached, which means when you eventually sell them the entire proceeds read as profit.

Together those errors can be larger than the trade itself. The fix is to import your address on both chains, so the two halves are present and can be recognised as the single swap they were. For how disposals are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

Swapping across chains

The tokens leave on one chain and different tokens arrive on another. Both ends need importing or half the transaction is missing.

Approving a token before swapping

An approval costs gas but disposes of nothing. It is a cost rather than a trade.

Paying gas on two networks

Cross-chain activity spends the native asset of whichever chain you are on, so a single swap can touch two.

Audit-ready, automatically.

Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.

A swap is a disposal, wherever it lands

Exchanging one token for another sells the first at its value that day. That the second token arrives on a different chain does not change it.

The two halves will not pair up on their own

Your tokens go to a router address on one chain, and different tokens arrive from an unrelated address on another. Nothing links them, so an import sees an unexplained outflow and an unexplained inflow rather than one trade.

Getting that wrong is expensive in both directions

Left unpaired, the outflow can read as a disposal for nothing and the inflow as income with no cost. Both are wrong, and the second sets you up to be taxed again on the full amount when you sell.

Approvals are costs, not trades

Granting permission to move a token spends gas and disposes of nothing.

Read-only by design.

  • Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
  • A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
  • We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
  • Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it

If something doesn't sync.

My swap looks like two unrelated transactions

That is how a cross-chain swap appears. Import both chains so the outgoing and incoming legs can be matched into one trade.

I cannot find an export

There is not one. RocketX does not hold your assets or run an account for you, so the chain is the record.

Tokens arrived from an address I do not recognise

That is the routing address delivering your swap on the destination chain.
