Plasma

Plasma is a network built for stablecoin payments. It launched in September 2025 and uses the same address format as Ethereum, so one paste covers your position.

Its headline feature is that plain USDT transfers cost you nothing. The network sponsors the fee, so you can send stablecoins while holding nothing but stablecoins.

Anything beyond a simple transfer, so swaps, lending and everything else, still needs XPL to pay for gas.

What you get out of the box

USDT payments and transfers, including the fee-free ones
XPL transfers and gas spending
Lending and borrowing on Aave
Yield positions on Pendle
Savings vault deposits and redemptions
Swaps and liquidity on Fluid and other exchanges
Bridge movements from Ethereum and other networks

Pick your import method.

On Plasma

  1. Open your wallet and copy your address. It starts with 0x and matches your Ethereum address.

On Kryptos

  1. Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
  2. From the menu, click Integrations.
  3. Click Add Integration and search for Plasma.
  4. Click the Plasma icon, then choose Import using Address.
  5. Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.

Good to know

  • Free transfers apply to straightforward USDT sends. Swaps, lending and contract interactions are paid for in XPL as normal.
  • Staking XPL is not available yet, so there are no staking rewards on this network to look for.
  • Not to be confused with the older Ethereum scaling idea of the same name. This is an independent network.

A network where sending money is free

Almost every assumption in crypto tax software rests on transactions costing something. Fees are how you tell a real movement from a test, they add to what an asset cost you, and they are usually the only thing making a transfer measurably different from doing nothing.

Plasma removes that for its main use. A straightforward USDT transfer is paid for by the network itself, through a fund that covers the gas at the moment you send. The transaction still costs something in the abstract; you are just not the one paying.

Two practical consequences. Your stablecoin payments carry no fee to add anywhere, which is simpler but breaks tools that expect one. And it is narrowly scoped: the free route covers plain sends, not swaps, not lending, not contract calls. Users regularly assume the whole chain is free, then find a swap failing because they hold no XPL.

The chain is genuinely used for payments at volume, so a typical history here is long lists of stablecoin movements rather than trading. Most of those are not disposals at all if they are between your own wallets. For how transfers and payments are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

Sending stablecoins with no fee

A plain USDT transfer costs nothing here, which makes the chain attractive for payments and remittances. It also means those transfers carry no fee to record.

Lending on Aave

Aave holds more than half the value on this chain. Supplying, borrowing and the interest earned each need separate treatment.

Holding through savings vaults

Vault shares grow in value rather than in quantity, so your balance sits still while the position gains. The gain surfaces on redemption.

Audit-ready, automatically.

Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.

Free transfers leave no fee to deduct

On most networks every transaction carries a small cost you can add to your basis. Fee-free USDT transfers here carry none, so the usual assumption that each move has a deductible cost does not hold.

Stablecoin transfers are still reportable

Sending a dollar-pegged token produces little or no gain, but it is still a movement of an asset. Transfers between your own wallets are not disposals; paying somebody else is.

There are no staking rewards yet

Staking XPL has not launched. If something claims to be paying you XPL staking rewards on this network, check where the money is really coming from.

Gas spent on XPL is destroyed

The base part of each fee is burned rather than paid to anyone. It is still a disposal of your XPL, with no recipient on the other side.

Read-only by design.

  • Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
  • A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
  • We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
  • Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it

If something doesn't sync.

My transfer shows no fee

That is correct for a plain USDT send. The network pays the fee on your behalf, so nothing left your balance.

A swap failed for lack of gas

Free transfers cover simple USDT sends only. Swaps and other contract interactions need a small XPL balance.

I cannot find my staking rewards

Staking is not live on Plasma yet, so there are none to find.
