Phantom started as a Solana wallet and now covers Solana, Bitcoin, Sui and a handful of Ethereum-style networks including Base and Polygon. It runs as a browser extension and a phone app, and you hold your own keys.
The thing to know before connecting is that one Phantom account is not one address. Your Ethereum-style networks share a single address, but Solana, Sui and Bitcoin each have their own, and Bitcoin may give you two. So a single account usually means four or five addresses to add.
Phantom has also grown well past being a wallet. It sells perps and prediction markets in-app, and those are real trades with real tax consequences that do not feel like trading at the time.
What you get out of the box
Pick your import method.
On Phantom
- Open Phantom and switch between networks using the network selector. Copy the address shown for each one.
- You will have one address covering Ethereum, Base and Polygon, plus separate ones for Solana, Sui and Bitcoin.
- Bitcoin may show two addresses. Copy both if it does.
- If you use more than one account in Phantom, repeat for each. Accounts have their own addresses on every network.
On Kryptos
- Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
- From the menu, click Integrations.
- Click Add Integration and search for Phantom.
- Click the Phantom icon, then choose Import using Address.
- Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.
Why one wallet means several addresses
It is tempting to copy the address Phantom shows you and stop there. That address only covers part of what you own.
Ethereum, Base and Polygon share one address, so those three come together. Solana has its own. So does Sui. Bitcoin has its own and may have two, because there is more than one way to write a Bitcoin address and Phantom creates both.
So one Phantom account is realistically four or five addresses, and if you use several accounts, multiply that. Work through the network selector once and copy each, rather than discovering the gap when your report comes out short. For how disposals and staking income are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.
Manage your Phantom portfolio with Kryptos.
Every address under one account
Phantom gives you a different address for Solana, Sui and Bitcoin on top of your Ethereum-style one. Add one and the rest of your history is missing, with nothing to indicate it.
Trading that does not look like trading
Perps and prediction markets sit in the same app as your balance. Settling one is a disposal, and it needs reporting whether or not it felt like a trade at the time.
Cross-network swaps counted properly
Phantom can swap you between networks in one action. That is a sale on one side and a purchase on the other, not moving your own money.
Audit-ready, automatically.
Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.
Perps and prediction markets are not transfers
Closing a leveraged position or settling a prediction is a taxable event, and in most countries derivatives follow different rules from buying and selling a coin. These are the events people forget, because the wallet is where they keep money rather than where they think they trade.
Staking rewards are income
SOL staking rewards count at the value they had when you received them. If you hold a liquid staking token instead, that token is a separate asset from the SOL behind it.
Swaps are disposals wherever they happen
An in-app swap is the same event as a swap on an exchange. Doing it inside a wallet does not change what it is.
Reinstalling can hide addresses
Phantom warns that accounts imported from a private key or a hardware wallet do not reappear automatically when you restore from your recovery phrase. The history is still yours, so check for addresses you used before a reinstall.
Read-only by design.
- Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
- A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
- We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
- Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it
If something doesn't sync.
Phantom gives you a separate address per network family. Add the Solana, Sui and Bitcoin ones as well as your Ethereum-style address.
Phantom can create two Bitcoin addresses for one account. Copy both from the Bitcoin network view.
Anything you imported from a private key or a hardware wallet does not come back automatically after restoring. Find those addresses and add them directly.
