HTX is the exchange that used to be Huobi Global. It renamed in September 2023, and the old web address no longer works, so if you have an old bookmark it will fail. The site is htx.com now.
Before anything else: HTX does not serve users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States or Singapore, among others. Its own user agreement prohibits all services to those places. If you are filing in one of them, this page is about importing a history you already have rather than opening an account.
The other thing to plan around is how far back the connection reaches. HTX's interface only serves roughly six months of trade history, and fill-level records only about four. A full tax year needs a manual export as well.
What you get out of the box

Pick your import method.
On HTX
- Sign in at htx.com, open the account menu and choose API Management.
- Create a key. A note is required, and you can bind it to your own network address at the same time.
- Give it read permission only. Leave trading off.
- Complete the security checks, which cover text message, email and your authenticator app.
- Copy the secret straight away. It is shown only at this point and cannot be recovered later.
On Kryptos
- Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
- From the menu, click Integrations.
- Click Add Integration and search for HTX.
- Choose Import using API Keys, paste your key and secret, then click Import Your Transactions.
- To pull a specific date range instead of everything, open Advanced Options before importing.
Good to know
- A key that is not bound to a network address expires after about 90 days, so a connection left alone can go quiet without warning.
- You can hold up to five keys on an account.
- Trade history through the connection reaches back roughly six months, and detailed fills roughly four. Anything older needs a manual export from the site.
- Sub-accounts hold their own keys, so each one needs adding separately.
- The old huobi.com address no longer resolves. Use htx.com.
Why a full year needs two imports
Most exchanges let you pull your whole history in one go. HTX does not. Trade history through the connection reaches back roughly six months, and the detailed fill records that carry fees only about four.
For anyone doing last year's taxes that is a problem, because the connection will happily return everything it has and stop, with no marker where the data ends. The import looks successful and the early months are missing without a word.
So do both: connect for the recent period, then export the older months from the site and upload them. Check the totals join up across the boundary. For how disposals and income are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

A history that goes back further than the connection
The live connection only reaches back months, not years. Combining it with a manual export is what produces a complete tax year rather than a partial one that looks whole.
Rewards separated from trades
Earn products pay out on their own schedule and are income when they arrive, not when you sell. They sit apart from your trading.
Derivatives kept apart from spot
Coin-margined and tether-margined futures are different instruments from spot buying and selling, and most countries tax them differently.
Audit-ready, automatically.
Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.
Older years cannot come from the connection alone
Because history through the connection stops after months rather than years, a past tax year has to come from a manual export. A sync that returns nothing older is not an error, it is the limit.
Earn payouts are income when received
Flexible and fixed products pay out on their own schedule, and each payout is income at its value that day. That value is also the cost you measure against later.
Futures follow different rules
Most countries treat futures differently from ordinary disposals. A history that flattens them into trades will be wrong in a way that is hard to see.
Where you file still decides the rules
Even if the exchange does not serve your country, the tax on what you did there is decided by where you live, not by where the exchange is.
Read-only by design.
- Create the key with read permission only, never withdrawal
- A read-only key can see your history but can't move funds
- Kryptos never asks for your password or login details
- Revoke the key on the exchange at any time and the connection stops
If something doesn't sync.
Keys not bound to a network address expire after about 90 days. Create a new one, and bind it this time.
The connection only reaches back months. Export the older period from the site and upload that alongside.
The old address no longer resolves. The exchange is at htx.com now, with the same account.
