Ronin

Ronin is the network behind Axie Infinity, Pixels and a growing list of other games. It started life as its own separate chain and moved onto Ethereum as a layer above it in May 2026, keeping RON as the token that pays for transactions.

That last part is worth flagging, because most networks of this kind charge fees in ETH and plenty of write-ups assume Ronin does too. It doesn't. Fees here are paid in RON.

What makes a Ronin tax report unusual is the volume. Games generate far more transactions than trading does, most of them small, and every NFT sale and token swap in a game is still a disposal.

Pick your import method.

On Ronin

  1. Open your Ronin Wallet and copy your address.
  2. If your address starts with ronin: rather than 0x, that's the older display style. Both are the same address and either one works.

On Kryptos

  1. Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
  2. From the menu, click Integrations.
  3. Click Add Integration and search for Ronin.
  4. Click the Ronin icon, then choose Import using Address.
  5. Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.

Why gaming histories are harder than trading ones

A trader might make a few hundred transactions in a year. Someone playing a Ronin game can make that many in a month, and the values are small enough that none of it feels like trading.

It counts anyway. Selling an Axie is a disposal. Swapping a game token for RON is a disposal. Buying a land plot sets a cost you'll measure against when you sell it. The tax rules don't have a carve-out for things that were fun.

The practical answer is not to do it by hand. Add every wallet you play from, including any a game made for you, and let the history assemble itself. For how disposals are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

Game activity treated as the trading it is

Buying an Axie, selling a land plot, swapping in-game tokens: these are disposals with a value on the day, whatever they felt like at the time. Some games produce hundreds of transactions a month.

Marketplace sales priced correctly

Ronin Market settles in RON. Pay with something else and it's converted behind the scenes, so what you gave up isn't always what the listing said.

Old staking rewards still in your history

RON staking ended with the move to Ethereum, and anything staked was returned automatically. The rewards you claimed before that are still income for the years you got them.

Audit-ready, automatically.

Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.

In-game trades are still disposals

Selling an NFT or swapping a game token is a disposal in most countries, the same as any other trade. The fact that it happened inside a game doesn't change it.

Volume is the real problem

Some Ronin games produce very high transaction counts at small values each. Individually trivial, collectively a full day's work to reconstruct by hand, and each one needs a value.

Staking rewards stop at the migration

RON staking was removed when the network moved to Ethereum, and staked RON was returned. Rewards claimed before that are income for those earlier years, and there's nothing new after.

Marketplace fees reduce what you received

Sales on Ronin Market carry fees taken at the point of sale. What you received is after those, not the headline price.

Read-only by design.

  • Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
  • A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
  • We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
  • Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it

If something doesn't sync.

My address starts with ronin: not 0x

Both work. It's the same address in two display styles, and Kryptos accepts either.

Game transactions are missing

Check that every wallet you play from has been added. Some games use a separate wallet from the one holding your main balance.

Staking rewards stop partway through

RON staking ended when the network moved to Ethereum. Rewards stop there because the programme did.
