Fon Chain

FON Chain is an Ethereum-style network with its own validator set. Your address starts with 0x and fees are paid in FON.

It is a small chain. There is no measurable lending or trading activity on it that we can find, so most histories here are transfers rather than positions.

Importing works the same way as any other Ethereum-style network: one address covers everything you hold.

What you get out of the box

FON transfers and gas
Token transfers on the network
Staking and delegation where you have used it
Deposits to and withdrawals from exchanges

Good to know

  • Fees are paid in FON.
  • There is no public record of a DeFi ecosystem here, so expect transfers rather than lending or liquidity positions.
  • If you hold FON on an exchange as well, add that account so the two sides connect.

A small chain, and what that means for your report

FON Chain runs normally and produces blocks steadily, but it is a small network with no public record of a lending or trading ecosystem on it.

That is worth saying plainly, because it sets expectations. On a busy chain, the hard part of a tax report is untangling liquidity positions, lending balances and reward streams. Here there is very little of that to untangle. Most histories are transfers, gas, and movement to and from an exchange.

The work that remains is the ordinary kind. Every fee is a small disposal of FON. Every deposit from an exchange needs that exchange imported, or the coins arrive with no cost attached and a later sale looks like pure profit. Transfers between wallets you own are not sales, provided both sides are present for them to pair against.

For how transfers and disposals are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

Recording ordinary transfers

Most activity here is moving FON and tokens around, which is straightforward once the address is imported.

Matching exchange deposits

Adding the exchange account alongside the wallet lets deposits and withdrawals pair up rather than looking unexplained.

Tracking gas spending

Fees come out of FON, so an active year produces a series of small disposals.

Audit-ready, automatically.

Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.

Gas is a FON disposal

Fees are paid in the network's own token, so each one is a small disposal priced against FON rather than against ETH.

Transfers between your own wallets are not sales

Moving FON between wallets you control does not dispose of anything. Import both sides so they pair up.

Exchange deposits need the other side

A deposit arriving from an exchange has no cost attached unless the exchange account is imported too.

Staking rewards are income when received

Where you have delegated, rewards are receipts valued on the day they become yours.

Read-only by design.

  • Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
  • A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
  • We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
  • Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it

If something doesn't sync.

My deposit has no purchase price

Add the exchange account it came from. Kryptos then pairs the withdrawal with the deposit and carries the cost across.

I cannot find any liquidity positions

There is no public evidence of a DeFi ecosystem on this chain. If you have not used one, you do not have any.

My fees look small

They are. Each is still a disposal of FON and they add up across a year.
