Arbitrum is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, designed to enhance transaction speeds and reduce fees while maintaining the security of the Ethereum blockchain. It uses optimistic rollups to batch transactions, improving scalability for decentralized applications (dApps) and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. Arbitrum supports Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility, allowing developers to deploy existing Ethereum dApps with minimal changes.
