TON is the network built around Telegram. Its coin was renamed in June 2026: what used to be Toncoin is now Gram. The network is still TON, your balance is untouched, and there is nothing to swap or migrate.
Addresses here look nothing like Ethereum ones. Yours is a long string starting with EQ or UQ, and one address covers your Gram along with the tokens and NFTs you hold.
TON has a quirk worth understanding before you import: one recovery phrase can produce several different addresses, and people regularly think funds have vanished when they have not.
What you get out of the box

On TON
- Open your wallet, Tonkeeper or the Telegram wallet, and copy your address. It is a long string starting with EQ or UQ.
- If you have upgraded your wallet version at any point, copy the older address as well. Upgrading gives you a new address and leaves the old one in place.
On Kryptos
- Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
- From the menu, click Integrations.
- Click Add Integration and search for TON.
- Click the TON icon, then choose Import using Address.
- Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.
Good to know
- An address starting EQ and the same address starting UQ are one wallet, not two. Adding both would double your balance.
- The rename from Toncoin to Gram changed the name only. Anything asking you to swap or migrate your coins is a scam.
- Deposits to an exchange need the comment or memo the exchange gives you. Without it the money can land nowhere recoverable.
Toncoin is now Gram, and nothing else changed
In June 2026 the coin that powers TON was renamed from Toncoin to Gram, following a community vote. The network kept its name: it is still The Open Network, still TON.
For anyone holding it, this is a relabelling. There was no swap, no snapshot, no migration and no new contract. Your balance, your addresses, your NFTs and your positions are exactly where they were. You did not dispose of anything, so there is nothing to report and your original purchase price carries on as before.
Two practical consequences. Old records will disagree with new ones: an exchange statement from 2024 says Toncoin, one from today says Gram, and both describe the same asset. They belong in one continuous history, not two.
And a warning worth repeating. A rename with no migration is perfect cover for scams. If any site, message or bot asks you to swap Toncoin for Gram, connect a wallet to claim new tokens, or move funds to a migration address, it is a theft attempt. There is nothing to claim.
Why one recovery phrase gives you several addresses
This is the single most common reason a TON balance looks wrong, and it surprises people who have used other chains for years.
On most networks your recovery phrase produces one address, permanently. On TON a wallet is itself a small program on the chain, and the address is derived partly from that program. Change the program, by upgrading to a newer wallet version, and you get a different address from the same phrase.
So a long-term TON user can legitimately own three or four addresses, all from one recovery phrase, each holding whatever was there when they moved on. Nothing is lost. The funds sit at the older addresses until moved by hand, and an upgrade does not sweep them along.
When you import, add every address you have used rather than only the current one. Your wallet app can usually show the older versions and their balances.
There is a second address quirk that pulls the other way. The same wallet can be written two ways, one starting EQ and one starting UQ, and both are correct. Deposits that need a comment attached
Sending Gram to an exchange usually means sending to an address thousands of other customers also use. The comment field, sometimes called a memo, is what tells the exchange the money is yours.
Leave it out and the deposit still lands on the chain, but the exchange has no way to credit it. Recovering it means support tickets, and sometimes it is not recoverable at all.
For your records, the useful part is knowing that an exchange deposit address is not your wallet. Importing it as if it were would pull in strangers' transactions along with yours. Add the exchange account itself instead, and let the deposit match against your own outgoing transfer.

Finding balances after a wallet upgrade
Moving to a newer wallet version creates a new address from the same recovery phrase. Older funds stay at the old address until you move them, so both need importing.

Collecting Telegram usernames and gifts
These are NFTs on TON. Buying, selling and receiving them are ordinary disposals and acquisitions, even though they arrive inside a chat app.

The Gram rename is not a taxable event
Toncoin became Gram in name only. No swap, no new token, no disposal. Your holding period and your original cost both continue unbroken, and your report should show one asset with one history.
Old exchange records will say Toncoin
Statements and reports from before June 2026 use the old name and ticker. They describe the same asset, and they belong in the same running total rather than a separate line.
Moving to a new wallet version is a transfer
Sending funds from your old address to your upgraded one is a move between wallets you own. Import both and it pairs up as a transfer rather than reading as a sale.
Fees come out of Gram
Transactions are paid for in Gram, so each one is a small disposal. Failed transactions return most of the value and keep the fee, which produces a pair of entries for a payment that never happened.

On TON each token sits in its own contract attached to your wallet rather than in the wallet itself. Kryptos reads those as well, so re-sync if a token has not appeared.
You have probably added both the EQ and UQ forms of one address. They are the same wallet written two ways. Remove one.
They are at your previous address. A wallet upgrade derives a new address from the same recovery phrase and leaves the old balance where it is. Add the old address as a second wallet.
