Manta ran two separate networks with confusingly similar names. Manta Pacific is the one still running, an Ethereum layer 2 that uses ordinary 0x addresses and pays gas in ETH.
Manta Atlantic was the other one. It stopped producing blocks on 1 August 2026, and it used a completely different address format, so an Atlantic address and a Pacific address are genuinely different wallets.
MANTA exists on Pacific as an ordinary token. It is not what you pay gas with, though several chain listings say otherwise.
What you get out of the box
Choisissez votre méthode d'import.
On Manta Pacific
- Open your wallet and copy your address. It starts with 0x and matches your Ethereum address.
On Kryptos
- Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
- From the menu, click Integrations.
- Click Add Integration and search for Manta Pacific.
- Click the Manta Pacific icon, then choose Import using Address.
- Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.
Good to know
- Gas is paid in ETH. MANTA is a token on the chain rather than the fee token.
- If MANTA appeared in your wallet without you doing anything, it is probably the catch-up distribution for people who did not migrate off Atlantic in time.
- Assets other than MANTA left on Atlantic were not covered by that catch-up and may be gone.
Two networks, one name, and tokens that arrive by themselves
Manta ran Pacific and Atlantic side by side for years. They were not two views of one thing: different technology, different address formats, different purposes, and MANTA existed on both at once.
Atlantic is finished. Staking stopped in March 2026, positions were unstaked automatically from May, the chain went read-only in June, and on 1 August 2026 it stopped producing blocks altogether. Pacific carries on.
The part that affects your records most is what happened to people who did not move their MANTA off Atlantic in time. Rather than let those balances vanish, Manta committed to taking a snapshot and distributing the same amount of MANTA on Pacific, one for one.
That is a kindness with an awkward side effect. The tokens arrive at a Pacific address with no matching outgoing transaction anywhere a tool can see, because the chain they came from no longer exists. It is the exact signature of an airdrop, and any classifier will read it as one.
It is not an airdrop. It is a position the holder already owned, possibly since 2024, continuing under a new address. Booked as income, it would tax the full value of coins bought years earlier, and then leave the wrong cost for the eventual sale as well.
Note the limit of the arrangement: it covered MANTA only. Anything else left on Atlantic had to be moved by hand before the deadline, and what remains is stranded. For how migrations and worthless assets are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

Explaining MANTA that arrived on its own
Anyone who missed the migration deadline received their MANTA on Pacific through a catch-up distribution. It looks like an airdrop but it is the position they already owned.
Reconstructing an Atlantic position
Atlantic used a different address format and stopped in August 2026. Its history is not visible to any tool reading Pacific.
Bridging in from Ethereum
Moving assets across is a transfer between wallets you own, so importing both sides keeps it from reading as a sale.

The catch-up distribution was not income
MANTA that arrived on Pacific to replace an Atlantic balance is the same holding you already owned, one for one. It should carry your original cost rather than being valued as a fresh airdrop on the day it landed.
It looks exactly like an airdrop
Tokens appearing at an address with no matching outgoing transaction anywhere is the classic shape of an airdrop. Here it is a continuation of a position, and treating it as income would tax you on coins you had owned for years.
Atlantic and Pacific addresses are different wallets
Unlike some networks where two formats describe one account, these were genuinely separate. The link between them exists only in the migration record.
Other assets left on Atlantic may be lost
The catch-up covered MANTA. Anything else stranded there needed moving by hand before the chain stopped, and whether a loss can be claimed depends on where you file.
Forced unstaking happened without your involvement
Atlantic stopped staking and unstaked positions automatically in 2026. Those records were not your decisions, though the rewards received up to that point were still income.
Lecture seule par conception.
- Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
- A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
- We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
- Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it
Si la synchronisation échoue.
That is the catch-up distribution replacing your Atlantic balance. It is not new income; it should carry the cost of the MANTA you already held.
Gas on Manta Pacific is paid in ETH. A report showing MANTA fees has used a chain listing that gets this wrong.
Anything on Manta Atlantic is on a retired network with a different address format. It needs importing separately from its own records.
