Ink is an Ethereum layer 2 built by the team behind Kraken. It uses addresses starting 0x and gas is paid in ETH.
Its distinctive feature is how closely the exchange is wired in: you can move funds between a Kraken account and the chain in one step, without using a bridge.
That convenience is the thing to watch in your records, because a deposit that skips the bridge leaves nothing on chain to explain where the money came from.
What you get out of the box

On Ink
- Open your wallet and copy your address. It starts with 0x and matches your Ethereum address.
- Add your Kraken account as well if you funded from there. That route leaves no bridge transaction to match against.
On Kryptos
- Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
- From the menu, click Integrations.
- Click Add Integration and search for Ink.
- Click the Ink icon, then choose Import using Address.
- Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.
Good to know
- Gas is paid in ETH.
- Moving funds straight from Kraken skips the bridge entirely, so the deposit arrives from an address you will not recognise.
- Points earned through the rewards programme are not tokens. Nothing is received until they convert into one.
When the exchange is built into the chain
Most layer 2 networks are reached by bridge. You lock funds on Ethereum, they appear on the layer 2, and both halves are visible on chain, so a tool with both wallets can pair them automatically.
Ink was built by an exchange and wired that exchange in directly. Moving funds from a Kraken account onto the chain is a single action with no bridge contract involved.
That is genuinely easier to use and harder to reconstruct. On chain you see funds arriving from an address that belongs to the exchange, with nothing linking it to you. A tool with only your wallet has to guess, and both available guesses are wrong: call it income you did not receive, or leave it with no cost so the eventual sale looks like pure gain.
The fix is the same one that applies to every exchange: import the account alongside the wallet. The withdrawal on one side and the deposit on the other then match, and your original purchase price follows the coins onto the chain. Funding from a Kraken account
The one-step route means no bridge transaction exists. Import the exchange account so the deposit pairs with your withdrawal instead of looking like unexplained income.
Lending on Tydro
Lending holds most of the value on this chain, so supplying and borrowing is the main activity to reconcile.
Earning points
Points accrue through both on-chain activity and exchange activity. They are a score rather than an asset.

A deposit with no bridge still needs a source
Funds arriving straight from Kraken have nothing on chain explaining them. Without the exchange account imported they carry no cost, and selling later can look like pure profit.
Points are not income yet
A points balance is a score with no market and nothing you can sell. Nothing is received until it converts into a token, and that conversion is the date to record.
Bridging to yourself is not a sale
Moving assets between Ethereum and Ink leaves ownership unchanged. Import both sides so the legs pair up.
Gas is an ETH disposal
Fees come out of ETH, and an active year produces a long list of small ones.

- A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
- We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
- Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it

That is correct while they are still points. They become reportable if and when they convert into a token.
Add your Ethereum wallet too. Both legs are needed for Kryptos to pair them.
