Bitcoin.com

The Bitcoin.com Wallet is a self-custody app covering Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and several Ethereum-style networks, with a built-in exchange and staking through Verse.

There are two things to get right before connecting. Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash wallets do not have one address: they create a new one for almost every transaction, so you need the extended key that covers them all rather than any single address.

The second is that the app can hold several separate wallets at once, the kind people set up as "spending" and "savings". Each has its own addresses, and the forgotten one is usually the one that matters.

What you get out of the box

Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, through an extended key
Ethereum and the other Ethereum-style networks
Tokens held on those networks
In-app swaps and purchases
Verse trading and liquidity positions
Verse staking and the rewards it pays

On Bitcoin.com Wallet

  1. For Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, find the extended public key in the wallet settings rather than copying a receive address. One address covers only a fraction of your history.
  2. For Ethereum and the other Ethereum-style networks, copy the address. One covers all of them.
  3. Check whether you set up more than one wallet in the app. Each is separate and each needs adding.

On Kryptos

  1. Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
  2. From the menu, click Integrations.
  3. Click Add Integration and search for Bitcoin.com Wallet.
  4. Click the Bitcoin.com Wallet icon, then choose Import using Address.
  5. Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.

Good to know

  • Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash create a new address for almost every transaction, which is why an extended key is needed.
  • The app has no built-in history export. Its own guidance for Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash points at an outside explorer, and that produces a document rather than data you can import.
  • Verse staking pays your rewards in a tokenised bitcoin rather than in the token you staked.
  • One app can hold several wallets. Check for the second one.

Why Bitcoin needs a key rather than an address

On Ethereum you have one address and it is the whole story. Bitcoin does not work that way, and the difference produces the single most common tracking mistake there is.

A Bitcoin wallet creates a fresh address for almost every transaction, and when you spend, the leftover goes back to another new address the wallet controls. So your activity is spread across dozens of addresses that all belong to you but look unrelated from outside.

Paste one and two things go wrong at once: most of your history is missing, and the change coming back to you looks like money sent to strangers. The extended key in your wallet settings covers every address the wallet has made or will make, which is why it is the right thing to use. For how disposals and staking income are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

The whole Bitcoin wallet, not one address

Bitcoin wallets spread activity across many addresses, including ones they create to receive your own change. An extended key captures all of it; a single address captures a slice and makes the rest look like payments to strangers.

Rewards paid in a different token

Staking Verse pays out in a tokenised bitcoin, so the thing you staked and the thing you earn are different assets with different costs.

Several wallets in one app

People commonly set up a spending wallet and a savings wallet and then forget the second exists.

Change addresses are not payments

Bitcoin sends the leftover of a transaction back to a new address your own wallet controls. Read as a payment to someone else, that turns ordinary spending into phantom disposals.

Staking rewards are income in the token received

Verse staking pays in a tokenised bitcoin. That reward is income at its value on the day and becomes its own holding, separate from the Verse you staked.

Providing liquidity is not the same as holding

Putting assets into a liquidity pool and taking them out again are events in their own right, and what comes back is rarely what went in.

Exports here are not import-ready

The wallet points you at an outside explorer that produces a document rather than structured data. Connecting by extended key avoids that entirely.

Solo lectura por diseño.

  • Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
  • A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
  • We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
  • Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it

Si algo no sincroniza.

Most of my Bitcoin history is missing

You used a single address. Bitcoin wallets use many, so the extended key from settings is what you need.

Payments to addresses I do not recognise

Those are usually change addresses your own wallet created. With the extended key they are recognised as yours.

A wallet I set up is not showing

The app can hold several. Check the wallet list and add each one.
