Wallet of Satoshi is a Lightning wallet, built for paying rather than trading. It now comes in two forms: the original one where the company holds your funds, and a newer self-custody version where you hold them yourself.
For tracking, the important thing is not custody but Lightning itself. Lightning payments do not go on the Bitcoin blockchain. They settle between parties off-chain, so a year of paying for things through Lightning can leave almost no trace a block explorer could find.
That means there is usually no address to paste. What the original wallet gives you instead is an identifier that looks like an email address, and that is a payment endpoint rather than something a tracker can watch. The route in is the history file you export.

On Wallet of Satoshi
- Open the menu at the top right and go to Settings.
- Choose the option to download your transaction history as a file.
- Confirm your email address. The download link is emailed to you, so you need access to the address the account uses.
- If you also send and receive ordinary on-chain Bitcoin, add that address separately. Only the Lightning side needs the file.
On Kryptos
- Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
- From the menu, click Integrations.
- Click Add Integration and search for Wallet of Satoshi.
- Upload the files you exported. If your API key still works, Import using API Keys pulls everything in one go instead.
- Check the imported totals against your own records before the exchange goes, while you can still look something up.
Good to know
- Lightning payments do not appear on the Bitcoin blockchain, so no amount of address searching will find them.
- The export needs email access on the account. Losing the email means losing the export route.
- The identifier that looks like an email address is a payment endpoint, not a blockchain address, and will not resolve on an explorer.
- The company has said the older custodial wallet is being wound down, so exporting sooner rather than later is worth doing.
Why there is nothing to look up
Almost every wallet guide ends with pasting an address, because almost every wallet writes its history to a public blockchain. Lightning does not work that way.
Lightning moves value between parties off-chain and only settles to Bitcoin occasionally. So someone who spent through Lightning every week for a year may have a blockchain footprint of one or two transactions, or none at all. Searching an explorer returns nothing, and the identifier the wallet shows you, the one shaped like an email address, is a way to receive payments rather than a place on the chain.

Payments no explorer can find
Lightning settles off-chain, so a busy year of small payments leaves little or nothing on the blockchain. The export is the only record of what happened.
Spending bitcoin is still disposing of it
Paying for something with bitcoin is a disposal in most countries, even for a coffee. A payments wallet produces a lot of them.

Spending is a disposal
Using bitcoin to pay for something is disposing of it at that day's value, and the gain or loss against what it cost you is real. This is the single most overlooked thing about payment wallets.
Lots of small payments still add up
A payments wallet produces many small disposals rather than a few large ones. Individually trivial, collectively a full report.
Export before you lose access
The history comes by email and only while the account works. Once a custodial wallet closes, there is no blockchain to fall back on for the Lightning side.
Moving to self-custody is not a sale
Shifting your balance from the custodial wallet to a self-custody one keeps it yours. It is a transfer, provided both ends are in your records.

- Create the key with read permission only, never withdrawal
- A read-only key can see your history but can't move funds
- Kryptos never asks for your password or login details
- Revoke the key on the exchange at any time and the connection stops
