Nami is no longer a working wallet. It was folded into Lace as "Nami Mode" at the end of 2024, and since the Plomin upgrade in January 2025 it has functioned only as a migration tool. The reason was governance: Nami could not delegate the voting rights Cardano now expects a wallet to handle.
Migrating is a one-click move from Nami's home screen and does not ask for your recovery phrase or spending password. Your addresses and your delegation carry over, so nothing about your holdings changes.
For your tax report the migration changes nothing either. Your history is on the Cardano blockchain, tied to your stake address, and that stays the same across the move.
What you get out of the box
So importierst du.
Finding your stake address
- Open Lace, or Nami if you have not migrated yet, and find the stake or reward address in the staking screen. It starts with stake1.
- If neither opens, look up a Cardano address you know you owned on a block explorer, which will show the stake address behind it.
- Use the stake address, not a payment address. One wallet makes many payment addresses and has exactly one stake address.
On Kryptos
- Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
- From the menu, click Integrations.
- Click Add Integration and search for Nami.
- Click the Nami icon, then choose Import using Address.
- Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.
Good to know
- Migrating to Lace does not require your recovery phrase or spending password, and it keeps your addresses and delegation.
- Because your addresses do not change, your history and your stake address are the same before and after.
- Nami-era transactions are still on the blockchain and still count for the years they happened in.
- Cardano rewards build up in a separate reward account and only appear in your transactions when withdrawn.
Why the move does not affect your report
Changing wallet software feels like it should matter for tax. Here it does not, and the reason is worth understanding.
Your holdings are not in the app. They are on the Cardano blockchain, at addresses your recovery phrase controls. Nami and Lace are two pieces of software that read the same addresses. Migrating swaps the interface, not the ownership, so nothing was bought or sold and your original cost carries straight through.
That is also why the same stake address covers your whole history, Nami era and Lace era together. Add it once and both sides of the move come in as one continuous record. For how disposals and staking income are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

One history either side of the move
Because your addresses carry over, the migration is invisible to your report. The same stake address covers everything before and after.
Rewards valued when earned
Delegation rewards accrue in a reward account and only surface when you withdraw them, which makes the accrual easy to miss.
Old years still count
Transactions from when you were using Nami belong in the tax years they happened in, whatever the wallet is called now.

One wallet, many addresses, one stake key
Cardano wallets create a new address for almost every transaction, so pasting one captures a fraction of your history and the rest looks like funds moving to strangers. The stake address is the exception: every address your wallet made shares it, so it identifies the whole wallet at once.
Migrating is not a transaction
Moving from Nami to Lace changes the software, not the ownership. Nothing was bought or sold and your cost carries straight through.
Staking rewards are income
Rewards count at their value when credited. The gap between accruing and withdrawing is why Cardano staking is awkward to reconstruct by hand.
Native tokens and NFTs count too
Cardano wallets hold more than ADA. Trades and mints of native tokens and NFTs are disposals like any other.
Standardmäßig schreibgeschützt.
- Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
- A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
- We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
- Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it

It works only as a migration tool now. Use it to move to Lace, then carry on there.
You probably used a payment address. Use the stake address, which covers every address your wallet created.
Cardano rewards accrue in a reward account and are pulled in when you withdraw. The two moments are different and both matter.
