Binance Wallet

Binance Wallet is the self-custody wallet built into the Binance app. Your assets are yours rather than held by Binance, even though you need a verified Binance account to create one and it lives inside the same app.

That combination is what catches people. Your Binance exchange export covers trading on the exchange. It does not include anything you did in the wallet, because that activity happened on public networks rather than on Binance's books. If you use both, Kryptos needs both.

One point of confusion worth clearing up. The old BNB Chain Wallet browser extension was discontinued and removed from the browser stores in October 2025. That is a different product from this one. If you have a browser extension that stopped updating, that is why.

What you get out of the box

Ethereum-style networks under one shared address
Bitcoin, Solana, TRON, TON and other separate-address networks
In-wallet swaps, including across networks
Yield on idle balances
Transfers between the exchange and the wallet
Activity from apps you connected the wallet to

On Binance Wallet

  1. Open the Binance app, go to the wallet, and check which networks you hold assets on.
  2. Copy the address for each. Ethereum-style networks share one address; Bitcoin, Solana, TRON, TON and the others each have their own.
  3. Connect your Binance exchange account separately. It is a different record and does not include wallet activity.

On Kryptos

  1. Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
  2. From the menu, click Integrations.
  3. Click Add Integration and search for Binance Wallet.
  4. Click the Binance Wallet icon, then choose Import using Address.
  5. Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.

Good to know

  • Many Binance Wallet users have no recovery phrase. The wallet is secured by shared key pieces rather than a single phrase unless you deliberately convert it, so there may be nothing to import elsewhere.
  • The BNB Chain Wallet browser extension was discontinued in October 2025 and is a different product from this wallet.
  • Transfers between the exchange and the wallet are your own money moving, but they appear on both sides and need matching.
  • Ethereum-style networks share one address; every other network has its own.

One app, two sets of books

Binance Wallet sits inside the Binance app, and you need a verified Binance account to create one. So it feels like part of the exchange. It is not.

When you trade on the exchange, Binance records it. When you use the wallet, the record is a public blockchain, and Binance is not a party to it. That is why your exchange export contains none of it, and why the omission is so easy to miss: the export downloads cleanly and looks complete.

Add the exchange account and the wallet addresses both. The transfers between them will then pair up instead of reading as money appearing from nowhere. For how disposals and income are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

Two records under one app

The exchange and the wallet live in the same app but keep separate records. An exchange export contains no wallet activity at all.

Transfers that pair up

Moving assets between the exchange and the wallet is your own money moving. Connected on both sides it reads that way; connected on one it reads as a disposal.

Swaps across networks

The wallet can move you between networks in one action, which is a sale and a purchase rather than a transfer.

Exchange history is not wallet history

Trading on the exchange sits on Binance's books. Wallet activity sits on public networks. Neither export contains the other, and the gap is invisible unless you look for it.

Moving between them is not a sale

Exchange to wallet and back is a transfer between your own accounts. It needs both sides present to read correctly.

Yield is income when it arrives

Returns on idle balances count at the value they had on the day, and that becomes the cost you measure against later.

No recovery phrase can mean no import elsewhere

If your wallet is secured by shared key pieces rather than a phrase, there is nothing to import into another wallet. Your addresses still work for tracking, which is all Kryptos needs.

Standardmäßig schreibgeschützt.

  • Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
  • A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
  • We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
  • Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it

My wallet activity is missing

You probably connected only the exchange. The wallet is a separate record and needs its addresses adding.

I cannot find my recovery phrase

Many of these wallets do not have one by default. That is normal, and tracking only needs your public addresses anyway.

My browser extension stopped working

The BNB Chain Wallet extension was discontinued in October 2025. It is a different product from the wallet in the Binance app.
