First, a disambiguation that matters. RARI Chain is the network built by the team behind the Rarible NFT marketplace. It has nothing to do with Rari Capital, the lending protocol that collapsed after an exploit in 2022.
The chain is built for NFTs and its distinctive feature is that creator royalties are enforced by the network itself, so no marketplace can skip them.
Your address starts with 0x and gas is paid in ETH, not in the RARI token.
What you get out of the box

Pick your import method.
On RARI Chain
- Open your wallet and copy your address. It starts with 0x.

- Click Add Integration and search for RARI Chain.
- Click the RARI Chain icon, then choose Import using Address.
- Give the wallet a name, paste your address, and click Import Your Transactions.
Good to know
- This is Rarible's chain. Rari Capital was an unrelated project that failed in 2022.
- Gas is paid in ETH. RARI is a governance token rather than the fee token.
- Royalties here are paid on every sale because the chain enforces them, not the marketplace.
Two projects called Rari, and only one of them is this
This is worth settling before anything else, because the name collision has caused real confusion and the two projects could hardly be more different.
RARI Chain is from the RARI Foundation, connected to Rarible, the NFT marketplace. It launched in 2024 as a network for NFTs, with one genuinely distinctive idea: creator royalties are enforced at the level of the chain itself. On most networks a royalty is a convention that marketplaces can honour or ignore, and many stopped honouring them. Here the network pays them regardless.
Rari Capital was something else entirely: a lending protocol that was exploited and collapsed in 2022. It had no connection to Rarible or to this chain. If you are reconstructing an older portfolio, those are two separate positions with two separate stories, and merging them would produce nonsense.
For creators, the enforced royalty is the interesting part of the tax picture. Because it cannot be bypassed, you receive income on every secondary sale of your work, reliably and often in small amounts. Each is a receipt at the value on the day, and across an active collection there can be a great many. For how royalty income is treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.
One practical note: activity on this chain has fallen substantially and its published connection points have been unreliable. If an import comes back empty, that may be the chain rather than your wallet, and records you kept yourself become more important.
Manage your Rari portfolio with Kryptos.
Receiving royalties as a creator
Because the chain enforces them, royalties arrive on every secondary sale rather than only where a marketplace chooses to honour them. Each is income.
Trading NFTs
Buying and selling are ordinary acquisitions and disposals, with the royalty forming part of what a sale cost.
Telling this apart from Rari Capital
Anyone reconstructing an old portfolio should be careful not to merge two unrelated projects that share a name.
Audit-ready, automatically.
Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.
Royalties are income on every sale
As a creator you receive a share of each secondary sale, reliably, because the network enforces it. Each payment is income at the value on the day.
Do not merge this with Rari Capital
They are unrelated projects. Rari Capital was a lending protocol that collapsed in 2022, which is a very different position from holding assets here.
Gas is an ETH disposal
Fees come out of ETH rather than the RARI token.
NFT sales are disposals like any other
Selling an NFT disposes of it, measured against what you paid, with the royalty and any fees forming part of the cost of the transaction.
Read-only by design.
- Kryptos only ever needs your public wallet address
- A public address is read-only. It can't move or spend anything
- We never ask for your recovery phrase or private key
- Remove a wallet whenever you like, and its data goes with it
If something doesn't sync.
Check which RARI you mean. The governance token here is unrelated to anything from Rari Capital.
If you have minted NFTs, those are royalties from secondary sales. The chain enforces them, so they arrive on every sale.
Activity on this chain has fallen a long way and its published endpoints have been unreliable. Your balance may need reconstructing from records you kept.
