API Import Manual Import

Last updated: · 4 min read

Bitmart

BitMart is winding down. Trading stopped on 26 August 2026, and the exchange has said it shuts down completely on 31 January 2027.

That gives a window to get your funds and your records out, but it is a closing one. Withdrawals are the urgent part; your transaction history is the part people forget until they need it, which is usually months later when they sit down to do their taxes.

Export everything now while the account still opens. Once an exchange is gone there is nobody to ask.

What you get out of the box

Spot trades and the fees on them
Futures and margin positions
Staking and earn rewards
Deposits, withdrawals and their fees
Transfers out to your own wallets, matched to the receiving side

Pick your import method.

Before access goes

  1. Withdraw your funds. That is the part with a deadline.
  2. Export your full history: spot trades, any futures or margin activity, staking or earn rewards, and every deposit and withdrawal.
  3. If your API key still works, connecting it now pulls the history in one go rather than file by file.
  4. Keep the raw files somewhere safe even after importing. They are your only evidence once the site is gone.

On Kryptos

  1. Go to Kryptos.io and sign up with your Google account.
  2. From the menu, click Integrations.
  3. Click Add Integration and search for BitMart.
  4. Upload the files you exported. If your API key still works, Import using API Keys pulls everything in one go instead.
  5. Check the imported totals against your own records before the exchange goes, while you can still look something up.

Good to know

  • Trading stopped on 26 August 2026. Only withdrawals and record access remain.
  • The exchange has said it closes fully on 31 January 2027.
  • Export rewards history separately if you used staking or earn products. Rewards often sit in their own report.
  • Withdrawing to your own wallet is a transfer, not a sale, but only if you add the receiving wallet too.

Get the records out, not just the money

Most people withdraw and consider it done. Withdrawing solves this year's problem and leaves next year's.

Your transaction history is what proves what you bought, what it cost and what you owe. If you withdraw to a wallet without exporting first, that wallet shows a balance arriving from nowhere, with no cost attached to it. Sell later and, with no record of what it cost, the whole proceeds can end up looking like gain.

So export everything before the account closes, import it, and keep the original files. For how disposals and rewards are treated where you file, see the USA crypto tax guide or the UK crypto tax guide.

Records that outlive the exchange

Importing your history now means your report survives the venue closing. Afterwards there is no support queue to email and no export button to press.

Rewards counted as income

Staking and earn payouts are income at the value they had when they arrived, not when you sold. Those rows are easy to lose in a hurried export.

A clean exit that reads as one

Moving funds to another exchange or your own wallet is not a sale. With both sides connected it reads as the transfer it was.

Audit-ready, automatically.

Once your wallets and exchanges are connected, generating a tax report takes a single click. Open Reports from the menu, choose your jurisdiction, and download.

Moving your funds out is not a sale

Withdrawing to your own wallet or another exchange is a transfer between your own accounts, not a disposal. It only reads that way if the receiving side is missing, so add the destination too.

Rewards are income when they arrived

Staking and earn payouts count at their value on the day you received them, and that value becomes the cost you measure against when you eventually sell.

Trades still count for the years they happened

An exchange closing does not erase the tax years you traded in. Those disposals belong in the returns for the years they fall in.

Assets you cannot recover

If funds end up genuinely unrecoverable, that may be claimable as a loss. Rules differ by country and usually turn on showing the assets are really gone rather than merely delayed, so keep every record of what you held and what you tried.

Read-only by design.

  • Create the key with read permission only, never withdrawal
  • A read-only key can see your history but can't move funds
  • Kryptos never asks for your password or login details
  • Revoke the key on the exchange at any time and the connection stops

If something doesn't sync.

I cannot trade any more

Trading stopped on 26 August 2026. Withdrawals and record access are what remain.

My API key stopped working

Access narrows as the wind-down proceeds. Use the file exports instead and keep the raw downloads.

Reward history is missing from my export

Staking and earn payouts usually export as their own report rather than appearing among the trades. Pull them separately.
